ASEAN forms council to analyze cancer-causing lipsticks

The ASEAN Cosmetics Committee has formed a council to study the dangers of using lipsticks containing the carcinogenic dye sudan, after the products were found on sale in Vietnam.

The Ministry of Health in Vietnam made the announcement, saying earlier it would launch a nationwide inspection to confiscate and destroy all products containing sudan. Sudan may also damage human DNA. The EU has banned the use of sudan in cosmetics, except hair care products.
